Trust seal · readiness assessment by The AI Auditor

The Audit Ready seals

A visible, verifiable sign that your AI governance (ISO/IEC 42001) or information security (ISO/IEC 27001) is ready for audit. The seal documents a readiness assessment by The AI Auditor, not an accredited certification, which only an accredited certification body can issue. It is the solid preliminary stage, with a unique verification ID.

What the seal means

Two seals, two standards. Each confirms that the respective management system is ready for a certification audit, assessed on evidence, not on assertion.

Audit Ready · ISO/IEC 42001

Audit Ready · ISO/IEC 42001

Maturity of your AI management system (AIMS): AI governance, risks and controls are ready for a certification audit.

Audit Ready · ISO/IEC 27001

Audit Ready · ISO/IEC 27001

Maturity of your information security management system (ISMS): risks, controls and evidence are ready for a certification audit.

What gets assessed

The seal is only ever awarded after a documented readiness assessment against the standard. What the assessment looks at:

  • Inventory: which systems are in scope and what for
  • Roles and responsibilities of the governance (including the appointed owner)
  • Risk assessment and impact assessment
  • For ISO/IEC 42001, additionally: EU AI Act classification and obligations mapping
  • Controls (Annex A) and their maturity
  • Documentation, transparency and, for AI, human oversight

How it works

From assessment to seal

1. Request the readiness assessment

You book a structured baseline against the standard you want.

2. Structured examination

The AI Auditor assesses governance, risks and controls through interviews and document review.

3. Seal + verification ID

At sufficient maturity you receive the matching Audit Ready seal with a unique ID, typically valid for 12 months.

4. Re-check

After it expires, a fresh assessment confirms that the status is still current.

Frequently asked questions

Is this a certification?+

No. The seal documents a readiness assessment (a baseline) by The AI Auditor, that is, the maturity for an audit. Accredited certification is issued exclusively by accredited certification bodies; the seal is the solid preliminary stage, not a substitute.

On what criteria is the seal awarded?+

Solely on a documented readiness assessment against the respective standard (ISO/IEC 42001 or 27001) with a traceable assessment report. There is no seal without an assessment carried out, none for the auditor's own companies or network partners, and the later accredited certification stays strictly separate at the certification body.

What do the two seals stand for?+

'Audit Ready · ISO/IEC 42001' confirms the maturity of your AI management system, 'Audit Ready · ISO/IEC 27001' that of your information security management system. You can hold one or both, depending on what was assessed.

How long is the seal valid?+

Typically 12 months from issue. After that, a re-check confirms the status is still current, since systems and the legal situation change continuously.

How is a seal verified?+

Every seal carries a unique verification ID. At der-ki-auditor.de/siegel/pruefen?id=<ID> you can see the holder, the assessed scope, the validity and the status at any time.
